The Theme of the week
Explore the wonders of science as we take your child through five exciting themes. We'll also be doing some fun science related crafts, playing outdoor science games, have some science songs and stories - then ending the day with some themed mindfulness and reflection.
🔥 Day 1: Matter & Magic
Get ready for a sizzling start! Children will explore states of matter with hands-on experiments using dry ice, bubbling potions, colour-changing chemistry and magical transformations. A day full of wonder and wow moments to kick off the week!
🎵 Day 2: Sounds & Surfaces
Vibrations, echoes, and energy! We’ll investigate how sound travels, make simple instruments, and experiment with friction using ramps and textures. From noisy challenges to slippery races, this day blends science with movement and fun.
🚀 Day 3: Rockets & Flight
Blast off into the world of aerodynamics! Children will build and launch air-powered rockets, test flying machines, and learn what keeps birds and planes in the air. Expect soaring ideas and sky-high excitement.
🧬 Day 4: Bio Detectives
It’s time to zoom in on life! Budding scientists will examine fingerprints, extract real DNA from strawberries, and learn how biology makes us unique. A fascinating day of discovery that’s hands-on and full of wow.
🌈 Day 5: Light & Colour Lab
We finish with a sparkle! Children will explore how light travels, split white light into rainbows, make their own colour spinners and create glow-in-the-dark art. A bright and beautiful end to an unforgettable week!
